Could someone tell me the pros and cons of CLC and CLCLC filter ?
I have read from 2 sources that one filter stage results in a fast PS and sound better.
However, two filter stages result in a smoother PS with less ripple.
I have been playing with PSUD II.
With CLC:
C1 = 4uf
L1 = 15H (155ohm)
C2 = 40uf
Output voltage is ~1100VDC.
I get 300mV ripple
With CLCLC:
C1 = 4uf
L1 = 10H (95ohm)
C2 = 40uf
L2 = 15H (155ohm)
C3 = 40uF
Output voltage is 1100VDC.
I get ~1mV ripple
The CLCLC certainly looks better in PSUD II
At 1100V, what would be a tolerable ripple voltage ?
At 1100V, is there any hear able difference between 300mV, 50mV, and 1mV ripple ?
