Amp Assistance

I need some advice.

First off, let me state that I'm in need of amplification as a component for a larger project that has a lot of work yet to be done. The amplifier(s) for this project are not an end unto themselves - it/they will simply be modules inside something much bigger. It is well within my technical capabilities to delve into all the minutiae of the amp, but I can't afford the time. However, at the same time, I obviously want to get the most bang for the least buck. I'd also like to fit it into the smallest space. I'm sure these goals are not uncommon.

So far, my answer seems to lie in the direction of Tripath. I've considered many options, from kits to completed modules, but I can't seem to come to a firm decision. This place seems to have no shortage of opinions, so here I am.

As far as the details - I need to drive two of these optimally;

Clark Synthesis TST209 Tactile Transducer 300-861

I need to find an amp that will drive them capably with minimal distortion across their full potential frequency response - not just bass.

Whatever amp module I choose needs to take up as little of my time and attention as possible. I don't want to dither about with the vagaries of selecting a power supply, upgrading capacitors, modding, etc... At some future date, I may want to do this for fun, but not today.

The only thing I need it to do is drive these transducers from a line-level source with minimal distortion (1% is too much,) and preferably allow me a simple gain control. If I need to spend more than a rainy evening in front of my solder station to achieve this, it's too much.

And please - any advice to just go buy a finished unit at Radio Shack will not be helpful. If that's what I was after, I'd have just done it instead of coming here.

Now - with all that in mind, any ideas?
