Dear DIYaudio fanatics,
I am dedicating myself to build a replica of the 1980's Sharp GF 8989 Radio Cassette recorder. You'll find pictures of this beautiful vintage boombox here. The biggest problem now is to find the right drivers. Here are my questions:
1/ Do you know if it is possible to find a supplier able to provide woofers which would look the same as the original, and have narrow/receding baskets (so as to preserve the design of the shell)?
2/ Would you recommend any particular tweeters?
3/ Bonus question: would you expect an OK bass response (by current standards) from this setup? If not, any suggestion to improve it given the dimensions of the frame (530 x 290 x 110 mm / 20.9 x 11.4 x 4.3 inch)
Obviously, all your comments and ideas are very welcome.
Vincent
