hi,
I am a newbie in building tube amps although I have some experience fixing tube radios. This is my first attempt building Tubelab SE amp. I have just started to populate the board. Have installed resistors, tube sockets and semiconductors. I installed U3 and U2 constant current source ICs. Just to be on the safe side I check continuity between pins to make sure I have not shorted pins during soldering. To my surprise although I cannot detect visually any short continuity testing shows a short between two pins. It is same situation for both U2 and U3. Is this normal? Do these ICs work differently when operating? or Have I fried them while soldering creating an internal short? I was very careful about not overheating the parts during soldering. I would appreciate any help/guidance from other experienced members in the forum. Thank you.
best regards,
