I have an OPPO93 and decided to add an external drive with all the music I have ripped on to it. Apparently the hard drive has to be connected via the eSATA connection at the back. I'm not sure if that means that the USB cannot be used for an external drive (?).
These WD drives come formatted with the NTFS file system I think. So is it fine to just rip CD's to the drive in separate folders ( one per album) with music in WAV or FLAC format and with it's meta data also ? I guess the drive should not be partitioned.
Has anyone done this already with an OPPO93 ? I noticed that several other Bluray players connected to an external drive using the USB connection.
I plan to get the WD My Book Essential 3.5 inch 2 TB External Hard Disk .
Thanks.
Cheers.
