I think I know what I want (seasoned advice)

Good Evening

A cry for help from the neophyte, to the well informed.

For the last couple of months I have been trying to plan my first valve amp build and, although the internet is the most powerful learning/research tool I've ever encountered, it can very quickly, and easily muddy the fundamentals. It seems the more I research, the more I leave myself with questions... "am I wasting my time with this plan, or that plan, and what about that other plan"... Ad infinitum. I just can't seem to get out of the starting block, and keep pushing myself back to Square minus-1, each time I think I have a plan(s).

The most sensible, no nonsense-talking internet resource I've managed to find so far is you guys.

So here I am, cap in hand, asking for your help... I'd like the collective to suggest, to a new boy, something that could fill the following criteria...

=====================
. Push-Pull
. Class A
. Stereo
. THD <1%
. Childishly easy-to-follow schematic, including Power Supply schema'
. Parts List
. Won't break the bank
. Enough to power a pair of B&W DM2 in a medium-sized room (guessing at least 8WPC)
. Sound sweeter that the Sherwood S7200 transistor I currently use with a Garrard SP25 Mk2, CD, AUX (from tv)
=====================

I hope this isn't too much to ask, and I'm sure you'd tell me if I'm biting off more than I can chew for a first build.

I come armed with enthusiasm, Morgan Jones' Valve Amplifiers (which I don't mind admitting, is heavy going) I can solder blindfold (I used to build 3Com prototype routers by hand) and an unremitting respect for deadly voltages.

Kindest Regards
reuada
