I have 2 Roland JX-10 synthesizers from the 80s. I have made on good of the two and then fixed the other boards. I am left with a JX-10 with a missing, obsolete wire harness. I asked the best synth technician I know, " What would you do?" He said " I'd hardwire it". There are about 8 PCBs. It would be very difficult to solder from the back and reinstall. He suggested soldering from the top. I trust his opinion but he did not have time to explain or give me any tips. Following Shrouded pin receptacle removal, I will have about 200 wires to solder in groups of 4, 6, 10 and 12. Holes are 2.4mm apart. Traces and solder pads will be facing away from me. I am in need of suggestions, advice and tips prior to attempting this project.
