Hi All! I've been reading about bandpass subwoofers on this forum and others. And it's a little confusing. Especially when it comes to isobaric (face to face) configuration.
My plan is to build a subwoofer from what I have got already or can obtain from work for nothing
So far I got: 900mm length of 12" drain pipe, some plywood rings cutouts, 400mm of 4" plastic pipe for the port, 2x 8" woofers (USSR built I believe):scratch2:
Bad thing there is no specs for those woofers. All I know they are 8ohm. Planning to fit them on the buffle and move it inside the tube changing ratio of sealed to ported chambers to see what works best. I understand that port length should be changed accordingly to the size of ported enclosure.
If this tactics wouldn't give me desired LF then I probably will spend a little money for some subwoofer drivers. Found some JBL GTO804 for around £40. May even go for bigger 10" woofers:rolleyes:
I'm open for suggestions and criticism. It's my first go on BP diy subwoofer and it's to be used with active Tannoy Reveal 6D and doesn't need to be madly loud. Not sure what amp to get for sub..... Probably ep2500 would be future proof.
Tonight i'll try to upload pictures of the bits I got and whats done so far.
I'm all ears! Sorry for my English and thank you!
