Hi,
I have a Primare A30.5 power amplifier and last week the fuse at the power inlet blow. After replacing the fuse I noticed a humming sound from the amp itself and after putting it back into my system I can hear the humming sound over my speakers when putting my ear close to it. I cannot tell for sure if the amp itself has never hummed before but I can now hear it from over a 1m distance, but I can tell for sure I never had this humming sound from my speakers.
The only thing that changed in my system is the fuse which is now a ceramic type instead of a glass type.
My system uses one power outlet via a surge protector with all grounded cable leads. The volume does not change the loudness of the humming. The amp itself is humming but does not transfer the humming to the speaker without a connection to the preamp. When I connect the center interconnect to the the pre amp the humming is comming from the center channel, the same for the other channels, and the humming is consistent in all channels when everything is hooked up.
The fuse at the power inlet was blown but the fuses for all the induvidual channels are still intact. Can someone give me an idea about what I am looking at, and if this is an easy fix?
The amp is 4 years old and out of warrenty.
Thank you for your help, and a merry Christmas to you all.
