TMM(2.5) or TM 14L w/ MiniDSP

First off, thanks Tinitus, Dissi, and DumpTruck for clarifying some things in my last thread and sorry for creating a new thread, but I figured the title of the last thread no longer applied.

I'm still having a tough time pulling the trigger and committing on a setup with the following design constraints:
  • 14L box mounted to the wall (yeah I know, reflections and all that but its the only place I have)
  • Crossover W/ miniDSP
  • No subwoofer, so I want bass extension to 40Hz
  • Room is short and speaker is mounted high so I'd like a wide vertical dispersion towards the floor

Questions:
  • Will a TM or TMM(2.5) give me better dispersion towards the floor?
  • Do I want to mount the tweeter on the top or bottom for a cabinet mounted high?
  • If I do a TMM (2.5) with a 4-channel (total) miniDSP crossover, I assume I will need to do the .5 crossover passively. I assume I just wire an inductor in series with the .5 woofer? Is this good enough or do I need a steeper slope? Wise mix of passive and active circuitry?
  • When actively crossing over a tweeter, is it a good idea to wire in a capacitor in series in case the DSP dumps its software and sends a full range signal to the tweet?

I am guessing I have the following advantages and disadvantages to the two designs. Please feel free to correct as you see fit...

TM Advantages:
  • Deeper bass response (Lower f3)
  • Wider vertical dispersion?

TM Disadvantages:
  • Lower total SPL to work with active EQ

TMM(2.5) Advantages:
  • Higher total SPL to work with active EQ, which could help overcome reflections due to wall mounting
  • 'Bigger' sound with more midbass and ability to EQ lower bass

TMM(2.5) Disadvantages
  • More unpredictable vertical dispersion?
  • Mixing active and passive crossovers (Maybe this isn't so bad?)
  • Higher f3
