I have Rek-O-Kut Rondine Jr that I bought from an estate sale over a year ago. When I got it, it had not run since about 1974 and was very stiff. The platter wasn't stuck, the motor was.
I pulled the motor apart and cleaned all the bushings and felt and replaced the old gunky oil with Mobile One. Spins like a charm now. However... It's ridiculously loud! You should not be able to hear your TT motor from across the room. No.
Any ideas on what to do? I tried my best to get the motor aligned and quiet, but can not. I've searched but have not found a TT motor rebuild service. Was hoping to find someone who knows his way around motors like this.
The Rondine Jr is a nice little pinch roller TT with a heavy platter. I sure would like to get the thing running quiet, but just can't.
