Mike from Zapco said,
"The turnon pop is normal with these models. It is inherit to the unmuting circuit in the early Z and studio series. There is no fix to this except radical changes to the output amp muting circuit."
I'm not an engineer but looking at the mute circuit in the Soundstream, it seams that Zapco could have put a capacitor and diode in their circuit to delay the J109 a touch. Looks like it could be an easy mod.
Any Ideas or should I leave it alone?
Thanks all
Note... I have read that some pop could be from dc-offset, leaky trans.... Just saying that old Soundstreams are dead quiet...
